Actively Recruiting Patients for Vascular Patient Advisory Council

We are calling upon consortium members to refer patients as members of our new Vascular Patient Advisory Council (PAC).

This initiative partners with patients to gain insight into the patient experience that may help guide and shape the work that we do as a consortium.

We will hold the first Vascular PAC meeting this fall. There is no up-front commitment and patients will be compensated for their time.

Joining a patient advisory council can also help improve a patient's quality of life by helping them connect with other patients with similar experiences, building their community, and giving them an opportunity to participate in advocacy.

We are looking for patients who:

  • Have been an active participant in their care
  • Ask thoughtful questions during appointments
  • Would likely be confident speaking among a group of patients

When you approach potential patients, share that the Patient Advisory Council helps us improve the quality of care for vascular patients and that activities may include the following:

  • Quarterly teleconference or zoom meetings of the patient advisory council
  • Attending BMC2 meetings as speakers/discussants
  • Helping to create resources which improve patient safety

Please send interested patients' names and contact info to Elizabeth Horn at ehorn@umich.edu. You may also refer patients to fill out our form for more information. A flier you can download, print, and share is on our website.

We appreciate your assistance in connecting us to patients who can help further advance our efforts to improve quality of care and outcomes for cardiovascular patients across Michigan.
