MiCR Cardiac Rehab Utilization QI Award

The Michigan Cardiac Rehab Network (MiCR) reviewed the second round of applications for the MiCR Cardiac Rehab Utilization Quality Initiative Award and granted funds for new projects. Participating sites were invited to apply for up to $5000 to fund innovative programs aimed at improving cardiac rehab utilization across Michigan. Mini grants totaling $16k fund the following projects for 2024:

  • Heart Failure University
    Ashley Gorchow, MyMichigan Midland
  • Improving Referrals and Graduation Rate for Phase II Cardiac Rehab 
    Miranda Umbras, DMC Huron Valley Sinai
  • Let’s “Walk it Out”: An Exercise Initiative
    Justin Erickson, Ascension Rochester
  • The Weight of Heart Failure
    Brett Reynolds, Corewell East

Grant awardees will take turns presenting their QI projects at upcoming MiCR meetings and webinars. The third and final round of funding will be announced in January and will target sites addressing gender disparities and developing telehealth/hybrid modalities of CR care delivery.
