BMC2 PCI Physician Collaborative Virtual Meeting, February 26, 2026, 6 – 7:30 pm.

BMC2 Shock Needs Assessment

To understand the landscape of shock care and resources at sites across BMC2 and ensure the BMC2 shock initiative fits the needs, please complete this Site Needs Assessment.

This assessment will help us better understand your current infrastructure and operations to support patients presenting to your hospital with acute myocardial infarction cardiogenic shock (AMI-CS). 

Year 1 focuses on best practice development, protocol development, and multidisciplinary education. 

Your feedback is essential as we work together to plan an effective launch of this program across our consortium.

CARES Program

BMC2 has partnered with the Michigan Urological Surgery Improvement Collaborative (MUSIC) to provide peer support for vascular surgeons through the Coping with AdveRse EventS (CARES) program.  To learn more, or request support, visit the CARES page on musicurology.com.

    • April 11, 2026 – BMC2 PCI Collaborative Meeting (10am-4pm) – In-person at the Midland Country Club, in Midland, MI.  A registration link will be sent soon!
    • May 7, 2026 – BMC2 PCI 2027 P4P Goal Virtual Meeting (6-7:30pm) - All are invited to attend.  This meeting does not offer P4P credit.
    • September 25, 2026 – BMC2 Shock Workgroup Retreat in Traverse City, MI.  More info coming soon!
    • September 26, 2026 – BMC2 PCI Physician Meeting (physicians only) 12-3 pm, in conjunction with the Michigan Chapter of American College of Cardiology (MCACC) at the Grand Traverse Resort, in Traverse City, MI.

Accessing MVC Data to Inform CR Utilization After PCI Metric

Emily Bair, MS, MPH, RDN, CSP- MVC Site Engagement Coordinator reviewed the BMC2 PCI Cardiac rehabilitation utilization within 90 days after PCI measure and walked us through the process of gaining MVC access and utilizing the interactive reporting at michiganvalue.org. Emily's presentation also covered in-depth explanations of cardiac rehab utilization data as well as baseline data used for the BMC2 PCI measure. If you would like additional guidance on the registry functionality or an overview of available reports, any new user may contact the MVC Coordinating Center by email at Michigan-Value-Collaborative@med.umich.edu to request a registry review.

BMC2 PCI 2026 Worksheet and Dictionary Updates

Minor changes to the BMC2 PCI worksheet were implemented in 2026 which included:

  • combining or cardiac arrest and cardiogenic shock fields  
  • removed reporting of specific mechanical support devices under secondary access
  • removing pre-hydration data collection for the 6 hours prior to procedure

Updates and Reminders

U-M will be transitioning to Okta from DUO for two-factor authentication: The new REDCap login process, using the userPrincipalName instead of a uniquname, and the transition from DUO to Okta for 2-factor authentication was reviewed. Coordinators were advised to complete Okta enrollment by February 25, 2026, to maintain REDCap access, and to continue using Duo until February 24.  Okta enrollment instructions can be found on BMC2.org.  Information about the new login process is included in the slides.  Please contact the BMC2 Coordinating Center with any questions or if you need assistance.
